Abode of Jokei by Matsuyama Architects and Associates

Abode of Jokei is a minimalist house located in Kagoshima, Japan, designed by Matsuyama Architects and Associates. The residence is situated on a slightly elevated plot with a scenic surrounding environment. The area is less dense than what one would typically find in Japan, thus the architects provided large sliding door glazings on both the front and back of the home. The gabled roof’s structural elements are left exposed within the interior, with ambient lighting hidden behind the walls near the ceiling.
