AKI is a minimalist house located in Sapporo, Japan, designed by Akasaka Shinichiro Atelier. The residence features a gabled roof with metal panels overlaying the facade mixed with wooden slats. Overlooking the cityscape, the architect kept most of the interior open, with the dining space adjacent to glazed sliding doors leading to a balcony. Skylights provide illumination to various parts of the space, providing a playful interaction between lights and shadows.
