I realize Hotel Puerta América has been out for a while…but look at it. The Zaha Hadid designed portion still looks like something the Jetsons would find futuristic.
The hotel was designed by an army of top architects, including the aforementioned Zaha Hadid, plus Ron Arad, Jean Nouvel, and Marc Newson to barely name a few. The hotel is located in Madrid, and has a total of 308 standard rooms, 22 junior suites, and 12 suites.
Zaha Hadid was in charge of Floor 1 of Hotel Puerta América. It’s hard to even describe this interior because nothing has ever looked anything like this before. Designed and manufactured digitally, the organic curves produces a room not separated by a ceiling, walls, or edges – everything is continuous.
Every single element – the walls, bedroom door with its LED signs, sliding door to the bathroom, bathtub and vanity unit, bed, shelves, chair and a cantilevered bench by the window which doubles up as a table – is rounded in a single curved sweep.
