House in the Forest is a minimal home located in Nagano, Japan, designed by SUWA. The one-story home is constructed mainly of wood and concrete in order to absorb the heat during the summer. On the contrast, the winters in this region are blisteringly cold, thus the addition of a fireplace in the center of the home that radiates heat throughout the space. A series of sliding doors provides access to the outdoors, and creates a seamless integration of the interior to the outside space.
