House in Tomio is a minimal residence located in Nara, Japan, designed by CARVE. The home is situated on a south-facing slope on a corner lot. The home is adjacent a parking lot and a five-story apartment complex. Large square windows were placed strategically around the home to maximize privacy while allowing natural light to enter the space. In addition, a small courtyard is fenced off to provide some outdoor exposure, which is accessible via sliding doors.
