House J-VC is a minimalist residence located in Astene, Belgium, designed by GRAUX & BAEYENS. The building was restricted by its surrounding environment and building regulations. As such, the architects created a light gray brick cube with large glazings in order to maximize natural light as well as frame the beautiful panorama, which consisted of a river and the wetlands. The home is segmented into three volumes, with each volume defined by a single function, whether it be the kitchen, living area, or master bedroom. The communal spaces are located on the ground floor with the bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level.
