House in Takamatsu 2 is a minimalist residence located in Kagawa, Japan, designed by NAYA architects. The site is in Takamatsu of Shikoku, which is one of the islands constituting the Japanese Islands. It is the small town with a relaxing atmosphere, a stark contrast from Tokyo’s dense and busy streets. The architects planned the one-story house for a family of four. The designers wanted to keep the structure of the building as simple as possible. The gabled roof serves as an eave to block out the strong sunlight during the day. The interior wooden construction is left mainly exposed.
