Location: Tokyo, Japan

Minami Gallery is a minimal gallery space located in Toyko, Japan, designed by Naoya Kawabe. Wood elements were used with the white to create a sense of decor without affecting the homogeneity of the exhibition. Part of the exhibit includes a wide expanse of windows that overlook the street.

I like this particular interior for a number of reasons. Firstly, I appreciate the architect’s sense to generously utilize wood in the furniture, floors, and walls. I also love that the ceilings bare the industrial pipes and vents. The contrast of the grungy, industrial ceiling to the clean space of the exhibition really comes together nicely.
