Shinmachi House is a minimalist residence located in Aichi, Japan, designed by Tabata Design. The house is characterized by an interior courtyard surrounded by water, serving as a bath for the children. In order to promote physical activities for the children, the architects created mini rock climbing walls and lofts to climb. The upper level opens up to a balcony that overlooks the courtyard space, allowing abundant light to pass through to the interior without compromise to privacy.
