Spiral Window House is a minimalist house located in Osaka, Japan, designed by Aphaville. The client’s demand was to live while appreciating the Yodo river flowing in front of his eyes, and also to enjoy the annual firework competition on the Yodo river from the rooftop terrace. The architects displayed small, spiral openings from the ground to the second floor. The view from the living space expands to the river, the street, and the sky without colliding with the privacy from outside. Using the method of MOENN construction for the walls, they become surfaces without joint but the sashes, and the dynamic openings appear floating on the facade.
