Sum is a minimal space located in Okayama, Japan, designed by Huukei Design. The renovation involves the rehabilitation of four square meter Japanese-styled room within the home. While the space maintains the traditional aesthetic of Japanese-styled rooms, modern materials and lighting help create an ambient and welcoming atmosphere. A series of sliding doors provide direct access to the outdoors, with a small buffer zone in between the room and backyard.
