Loro Piana Interiors is commemorating the centenary of Cini Boeri’s birth with a special installation titled A Tribute To Cini Boeri at Cortile della Seta, the brand’s headquarters in Milan. This exhibition, running from April 16th to 21st, features some of the Italian architect and designer’s most renowned pieces adorned with Loro Piana Interiors fabrics. Collaborating with Archivio Cini Boeri, the installation reflects one of Cini’s fundamental architectural principles: the concept of a house with distinct rooms, each with its own exit, and a shared central area where inhabitants gather by choice, not obligation. The central space of the installation showcases the iconic Strips system, while surrounding areas highlight different product families. Guests are encouraged to interact with the furniture pieces, embodying Cini Boeri’s belief that furniture should engage users and adapt to their needs.

Visitors will encounter Cini Boeri’s most celebrated designs, including the modular Strips system, the Strips bed, Pecorelle sofas and armchairs, Bobo and Boborelax armchairs, and Botolo high and low chairs. Each piece is elegantly dressed in luxurious Loro Piana Interiors fabrics, enhancing their allure. Notably, the Botolo chairs are reimagined in Cashfur—a blend of cashmere and silk—in a limited series of 100 pieces, while the Strips sofa is upholstered in Cashmere Raw, and the Strips bed and Boborelax armchair feature Tiepolo wool. The Bobo armchair is adorned in Cashmere Sherpas, reflecting Loro Piana’s signature Kummel color. Additionally, the Pecorelle pieces are upholstered in the unique Pecora Nera® fabric, crafted from New Zealand merino sheep fleece, creating a captivating interplay of light and dark shades reminiscent of a real flock.

“The thinking of Cini Boeri is extraordinarily contemporary”, says Francesco Pergamo, Director of Loro Piana Interiors. “Just as extraordinarily contemporary remain the pieces we have chosen to exhibit together with arflex and Archivio Cini Boeri, and to dress with our fabrics. The dual centenary of Cini’s birth and the founding of Loro Piana has offered us the opportunity to contribute to the appreciation of the architect’s figure, embarking on a journey that will last three years. In the meantime, we start with this special collection that arflex produces and distributes with a selection of our most representative but also most versatile fabrics. We have chosen them with a focus on the key elements of Cini Boeri’s design: functionality, modularity, pieces conceived to be used and to become part of everyday life. Similarly, all our fabrics, even the most precious ones, are crafted to be used and appreciated within environments. The combination has proved simply ideal”.
