FOLDONE Table by Novae Architecture

Name: FOLDONE table

Designer: Novae Architecture

Location: Milan, Italy

Milan’s Novae Architecture have created a table that is dedicated to an innovative design approach. They describe it as a :modification of the matter around us”, so that it looks complex, but stays sustainable for everyday use. In its wonderful abstract form the FOLDONE table uses folding surfaces to create a single standing structure that can be used for storage and tabletop placements.

This table is best described as contemporary, in its most liberal form. The design transforms as you move around it, observing from different angles. The desk is most suitable for the living room, in my opinon, and would only fit if the surrounding furniture were equally as controversial.

The table is made entirely from steel which dramatically increases the build quality as well as the build difficulty. As the surfaces fold, the FOLDONE creates continuity as well as breaks to accommodate items. Having the table stand by itself with the way it looks, let alone hold items, must not have been an easy task.
