Fractured is a minimalist furniture collection created in collaboration between Pentatonic and Snarkitecture. The circular technology and precision engineering of Pentatonic is reimagined by Snarkitecture, resulting in a bench and table combination that both absorbs and jars simultaneously. For the bench, the design is set upon Pentatonic’s iconic AirTool system. The Fractured Bench represents the launch of a new silhouette to its component universe. 25 sheets of fine Plyfix, Pentatonic’s luxurious felt made entirely from recycled plastic (PET), have been pressed into a single 1.5cm thick sheet then heatformed into an ergonomically curved, 2-seater bench. Each bench is then surgically severed to deliver a Fractured modularity, suddenly making the 2-seater, two seats. Using automotive-grade, triple-axis CNC machines, Pentatonic’s AirTool Foil Table has been dramatically separated with computer-navigated precision. Deburred by hand and anodized to deliver a neutral matte finish, the Fractured table has 2 options of 3mm table top insert – Plyfix felt for soft tactility or aluminium for an arrestingly clean aesthetic.
