Heavy Stock is a minimal shelving system designed by Vancouver-based designer D Calen Knauf. The design is low and very sturdy, able to hold the weight of an adult male. The angled corners of the steel shelves are reciprocated by the edges of the maple legs, providing a sleek interlocking of the two elements. The entire system can be flat-packed, and designed in any number of ways.

If you haven’t noticed already, I have a penchant for visually light design. The combination of the white powder-coat and light maple is the look I’m going for these days. Functionally speaking, this is quite the utilitarian piece of furniture. It has all of the benefits of modularity, as well as the fact that it can hold entire human beings without bucking.
