Name: Higher Desk

Designer: Coordination

Location: Berlin, Germany

Coordination is an architecture and interiors firm that is driven by the quest for fresh, modern and unique ideas. Their passion for design shows through their strategic thinking and extraordinary design solutions. They have designed interiors and architecture for leading global brands such as Nike, Deutsche Bank, Falke and Nintendo. They also run an in-house product design studio, where the Higher Desk was born.

The Higher Desk is a minimal desk that has been elevated to a different height than most standard work surfaces. It can be used for many different things including reading a book or using a laptop. Coordination has given the desk an optional short leg, which can improve function to any existing desk or table, making it a piece you can use all of the time.

The Higher Desk works great in confined environments due to its modest dimensions. It is made of cork, lathered oak wood and lacquered steel. The Higher Desk gives people the option to stand up or sit down comfortably at a modern desk.

About the Author – Kyle Troutman

I was used to being around his closest contractor buddies and making the usual Home Depot trips with him on the weekends. So, instead of becoming a designer (or even an architect), editing and following design trends became my passion. I’ve worked at Country Living magazine, founded and edited a men’s magazine at my college, and now work in design PR.
