Luukku Chair is designed by Finland-based designer Satoshi Ohtaki. The minimal chair has a smiling aesthetic that was constructed using CNC. The thin, upper portion of the seat bends toward the lower plank just before its breaking point. This elasticity provides cushioning for an all-wood chair.

A wooden chair that smiles and has built-in cushioning? I want this immediately. Regardless of the smiling cushion, I would have liked the aesthetic of the chair as-is. I’m having one of those, “why didn’t ever think of this,” moments. Props to the designer, this is purely amazing.
