Design milk was able to get a comprehensive overview of Stefano Soave’s design process of the NONO’ Stool for Alma Design. The stool, which won the Young & Design “Design dello stupore” award for 2010, is an arduously constructed design, which has a slight semblance to Stark’s Juicy Salif.
The hand-made, wooden prototypes were built by splitting the stool into distinct sections: the base, seat rest, and legs. What must have been a methodical sanding session, the stool is molded into its eventual shape. The beauty of projects such as these is believing the fact that the sculptor scrupulously perfected every curve and corner.
