Inspired by the London 2012 Olympic Games all the minimalist furniture is made entirely of UK salvaged sports hall flooring. All the furniture is handmade in Austin’s Shropshire workshop using time tested traditional joinery techniques.The individual planks are hand sanded, leaving the original sports lines on display and then recoated with a natural wax oil.The range consists of a chair, table, bench, coffee table and coat rack.

While admiring Austin’s work, the term up-cycling has come to mind. James Henry Austin has managed to take an everyday material and re-imagine it into something wonderful, elegant and contemporary. Well done James.
