Name: Purist Chair
Designer: Elisa Hokanen
Location: Finland
Purist Chair is a minimal design created by Finland-based designer Elisa Hokanen. She undertook the project to experiment with gravity joints. The chair is made of four wooden bars, plywood panel, two screws and neoprene cord. The Purist Chair won first prize in the ‘Object’ category at Interieur Design Awards. I love that this chair goes back to the absolute basics, with a unique distinction. Composed of only a few wooden bars, a seat, and some cord, this chair exemplifies the notion that simplicity can be beautiful.
