Quindici is a minimalist lounge chair created by France-based designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. While the first two collaborations explored the rather computerized manufacturing possibilities of Mattiazzi, Quindici is constructed in a more direct and traditional manner. The plywood backrest and plywood seat are held together by a central wooden bridge. The sides and armrests are built up of wooden planks. Due to its construction there is a strong emphasis on the silhouette which was designed to meet ergonomic demands – the reclined seating position, the headrest and its generous armrests invite to read, to reflect, to relax, to nap. An upholstered version not only adds physical comfort but also color – all pieces exist in natural, black or grey ash wood. Quindici comes as a Chaise Longue as well as a lounge chair.
