Name: Schellmann Bed
Designer: Jörg Schellmann
Location: Munich, Germany
Schellmann Bed is a minimalist design created by German-based designer Jörg Schellmann. Schellmann’s interest in design was catalyzed by his father, who was an architect at the time. His influences included Joseph Beuys, Gerhard Merz and Donald Judd. His line of furniture pieces are incredibly unique with an industrial aesthetic.
The bed is made of tubular steel with perforated aluminum. It comes with or without the headboard/storage component. There are a simple selection of colors ranging from stone gray, gray-white or blue. I definitely like the contrast between the hardness of the bed’s material and aesthetic from the softness of the mattress and sheets.
