Sedia Pelleossa is a minimal chair designed by Italy-based designer Francesco Faccin. The chair is both a craft and industrial product – craft because it is made of traditional materials and industrial because it is inspired by classical industrial Italian techniques. It is designed with the logic of industrial production, to be produced in a series and to lower production costs to a minimum.
Inspired by the natural reduction of the skeletal system, the chair’s name literally translates Skinny to “skin and bones.” The handcrafted wood and stretched fabric chair combines the best of traditional workmanship and modern production efficiency. Each chair is made with a conventional “turn and copy” technique, where the repetition of only two diameters (30mm and 15mm max min).
