SPACE chair is a minimalist form chair designed by Finland-based design team KO-HO. The design of a chair generally speaks to utility as it applies to the bending of the body only, however KO-HO has gone beyond convention, creating a dynamistic shape that echoes the body’s form as well as the space and movement around. The ripples of this chair’s shell gently surround the body as waves of water and unheard sound: a Futurists’ manifesto applied to utility. This echoing of the body’s form begins to cocoon, envelope. A prelude to an embrace.
