3 Pombalino Apartments is a minimalist apartment located in Lisbon, Portugal, designed by Aurora Arquitectos. The project is an apartment that was formerly a leather tannery workshop. When the space was refurbished and divided into three apartments, the following principles were adopted: to maintain the pre-modern logic of circulation between rooms, without any corridors or small distribution spaces, to adapt the intervention of the existing partitioning, and to decrease the need of demolitions so that the integrity of the existing structure is preserved. The reinvention sought to maintain some of its key features: sparsely decorated spaces, modular use of the constructive elements, and the use of windows and doors as the main elements.
