
There are a number of things I really like about the MAK Gallery, designed by Space International.
Firstly, the simplicity of its open space is ideal to display the works of MAK Center’s artists and architects. Sitting on top of an existing structure, the five lower-level garages serve as studio space. In addition, multi-stacking doors open up to provide a complete transformation of the interior space to its surroundings.
While the occupying artists in residence research and produce works at the ground level, the results of their efforts can be displayed in the newly cantilevered pavilion which opens onto the courtyard below.
