Cook’s DIY is a minimalist renovation located in Kyoto, Japan, designed by nLDK. The area is being massively redeveloped with the preservation of some of the old-fashioned townhouses and shopping districts in tact. Due to an influx of tourists in recent years, guest houses in good locations have seen substantial profit, undergoing massive renovations and refurbishments as a result. The designers proceeded with this renovation project as a way to maintain the original character of the space while updating some of the essentials. The first course of action was to expand the kitchen while creating hidden storage units throughout the space to reduce clutter.
