Hotel Kinsley is a boutique hotel located in Kingston, New York, designed by Studio Robert McKinley. The hotel’s flagship property was originally built in the 1860’s, and was formerly home to the New York State Bank. The transformation of the property sought to maintain some of the building’s historical legacy mixed along with Scandinavian minimalism and vintage design sensibilities. The hotel features a spacious yet intimate signature restaurant co-owned and run by restauranteur Taavo Somer (of New York City’s Freeman’s, the Rusty Knot and Gemma in the Bowery Hotel). Hudson Valley restauranteurs Zak Pelaccio and Kevin Pomplun (of Fish & Game and Backbar in Hudson) consulted on the menu with Executive Chef Gabe Ross (alum of Savoy and Gramercy Tavern).  In between floors is a private treatment room and thermal infrared sauna, perfect for city-dwellers needing to unwind and relax. The 10 guest rooms exemplify the building’s harmonious marriage of old and new, balancing design elements of the past mixed with refined modern luxuries. Hotel Kinsley pays homage to the city’s storied past heavily rooted in generations of art, travel, and nature.
