Nub is a minimalist renovation located in Stuttgart, Germany, designed by AMUNT. The project is a renovation of the terraced house of residential activation and structural modernization of a terraced house from the 1930s and the reconstruction from the 50s in a Stuttgart workers’ housing estate. The house, in a typical Stuttgart hillside location, offered too little space on the ground floor for the kitchen, living room and dining area. In addition, the garden in the south was not connected to the ground floor, but only to reach the basement and the laundry room. We activated the garden level with the former laundry as living space. The intervention has created a diversified residential hall that creates a variety of visual relationships and a feeling of generosity in the small structure while still offering intimate spaces.
