43base is a minimal home located in Tokyo, Japan, designed by Miurashin Architect + Associates. The home is just three minutes from Yotsuya station on Third Street in downtown Tokyo. The steel structure, which was prefabricated in a factory, sits atop a slope that overlooks the street. Due to the size constraints of the site, the architects focused on elevated platforms, as opposed to individual floors, to maximize the space.

This might be due to the fact that I currently live in NYC, but I would much rather prefer having smaller “platforms” that fit a living room or bedroom perfectly than an overly expansive space. For me, 43base feels like a home. If I had a long day at work, or went on a tiring vacation, this is the type of space I would want to retreat to at the end of the day.

Vote and leave your thoughts, I want to know what you guys think.
