Name: ‘A’ House in Kisami
Designer: Florian Busch Architects
Location: Shizuoka, Japan
‘A’ House in Kisami is a minimalist home located in Shizuoka, Japan, designed by Florian Busch Architects. Located on the southern most tip of the Izu Peninsula, A House is perched high enough on the a steep hill to overlook the magnificent views of the ocean. The clients are a young couple who enjoy the outdoors and wanted a simple and relaxing dwelling that would contrast their busy lifestyle back in Tokyo.
The project was initiated by carving out part of the steep 30 degree angled mountain. The gap that was created through this carving process resulted in a central volume that accommodated a spa area and resting spot in between the bedroom and living floors. Similar to how a European accent boosts the attractiveness of the individual who is speaking it, a spectacular view will similarly accentuate the beauty of the architecture it surrounds.
