AA House is a minimalist home located in Barcelona, designed by OAB. Ceramic cladding was used on the rooftop and perimeter walls. The architects wanted as little obstruction between the interior and exterior as possible. As a result, an entire facade was made up of glasswork, trellises, and sliding panels.

“The footprint of the building uses a superimposed 7×7 meter skewed grid to support the program in a composition similar to a musical score. The diagonals serve as a roof system that ungulates like an artificial topography, creating skylights in some cases, while in others situations, rising up double the height of other rooftop peaks.”

This is easily one of the greatest buildings I have seen this year. I love the fact that the architects decided to not only create an entire wall made of glass, but chose to extend its visual scope by sloping the rooftop. The home is an ideal mix of abstract, minimalist, and geometric design.
