Name: EFH Islikon
Designer: moos. giuliani. herrmann.
Location: Islikon, Switzerland
Built on a 345 sqm site, EFH Islikon is a minimalist house designed by Switzerland-based architects MGH (moos. giuliani. herrmann.). The construction of the home took 12 months to complete, and the only access to the building is through the hillside. The structure is oriented toward the rising sun, and has large windows for complete views of the surrounding. The framework of the house is constructed of reinforced concrete.
I honestly don’t even remember how I stumbled across this amazing building, but I’m pretty satisfied with myself for finding this. Firstly, minimalist houses that find themselves isolated within a beautifully surreal environment are an automatic plus in my book. In addition, if the architect can somehow manipulate the building’s structure into the natural formation of the terrain, then I can say without a doubt that I will like the design. EFH Islikon seems to capture everything I stated in the former, and more. What do you guys think?
