Feldbalz House is a minimalist home located in Zurich, Switzerland, and designed by Gus Wüstemann. The architect describes the residence not as a house, but as a familial structure designed with a focus on freedom and social interaction.

“We created the sculpture that contains the family life, where everybody meets and circulates on the first floor, where you have a great view over the lake of zurich. This sculpture separates the parent’s area which is on top of the sculpture and the children’s area which lies underneath.”

What I find particularly interesting about the design concept of Feldbalz House is that all elements within the home are free from program. What the architect means by that is how there are no recognizable architectural elements that separate the space. Wüstemann states that different sculptures unfold to reveal and create rooms such as the kitchen, living, and bedroom spaces. However which way you interpret it, the home is beautiful regardless.
