Name: Fray Leon House
Designer: 57STUDIO
Location: Santiago, Chile
The Fray Leon House is a minimalist home with an ancient accent that the designers at 57STUDIO decided to keep. The home, Located in the East district of Santiago Chile, is shaped like an “H” to incorporate & preserve the trees around the lot. The species on the grounds include an Avocado tree (Persea americana), a Cypress (Cupressus Semperivirens), and a Peumo tree (Cryptocaria Alba).
Some of the walls on the home are completely filled with large windows. Since a good portion of the building is shaded by the surrounding foliage, the designers intelligently made part of some of the rooms transparent to make the space seem larger, while creating a naturally filtered light source via the tree leaves. The front of the house has a open, level area that allows visitors for some recreational walking before entering the abode.
Attention to detail is quite intricate on this build. The interior lighting is carefully selected and the garden is placed in the north to ensure even sun coverage for the plants. There are unilateral guard rails, floating staircases, Persian carpets, hardwood floors, and an executive sized pool ; even the back facing walls that are not seen at glance are decoratively coated in stone.
Gorgeous location and impressive build quality.
