Name: House of Cedar
Designer: Suga Atelier
Location: Osaka, Japan
House of Cedar is a minimal home located in Osaka, Japan, designed by Suga Atelier. The timber-framed house has a see-through facade, which exposes both of its two storeys. Small square and rectangular frames litter the front of the building, three of which can open.
I find this entire design fascinating. The interior is incredibly intricate and unique – for those who don’t mind a little attention, it’s definitely a bonus that most of the interior can be seen from the outside. The home is such a contrast from its neighbors as well. I feel like this project is a modern, Japanese iteration of the the traditional wood cabins.
