Less than a month ago, Suppose Design Office completed their hilltop ‘House in Fukuyama,’ and before I had time to even compose myself, the design firm as completed yet another project in Hiroshima, Japan.
The way ‘House in Minamimachi 03‘ is constructed reminds me of the large forts I used to make in my living room as a kid. The exterior concrete is actually an enclosure that surrounds the separated interior space. If you’re looking for privacy, this is definitely one way of doing it. The interior is actually slightly angled to provide some natural light from the ceiling.
The fact that the interior is unexposed allowed the architects to produce large windows and openings to gather light. Living here would make me feel like a kid again.
