House Van de Vecken is a minimalist home located in Stavelot, Belgium, designed by Artau Architecture. The house has an open floor plan with large window panes scattered throughout the space in order to bring in the surrounding nature and sunlight. The architects had to work around a planning contraint in that the site of the residence is located parallel to the street.

The dwelling sits atop a steep incline in order to take advantage of the magnificent view of the nearby forest. Most of the spaces within are either completely open or transparent in order to facilitate social interaction and communication. The home was built with a sustainability model in mind as well. An insulated roof and solar thermal panels means significantly lower energy consumption.
