Living with Books and Art by UNStudio

If you haven’t picked up an issue of this month’s FRAME Magazine yet, you should, because there is a full length feature on this amazing abode called, “Living with Books and Art,” by the Dutch firm, UNStudio. What looks more like a museum than a house, this Greenwich Village loft in New York City is what the future of future housing looks like. Even the 18,000 LEDs that make up the ceiling have an immaculate organic form.

The client – who is a collector of paintings, objects and books – wanted the space to have a transitional effect between his art and his daily interactions. The greatest aspect about this home is the fact that everything appears to be connected. The unification of space is provided through the illusion of lighting mixed with the high-end material: double curved glass fiber reinforced gypsum paneling.
