Mirador House is a minimalist home located in Lima, Peru, and designed by 2.8x Architects. The project was challenging in that the clients had very specific demands, and the surrounding typography was particularly uneven and steep. The client, an elderly lady, wanted a transformation in her life – a renewal of modernity.

As a result, the architects focused on a transparent and minimalist volume contrasting against a solid concrete volume that contains the private areas of the home. In order to maximize the view, the rooftop opens up into a terrace that overlooks the rest of the city and the mountainous landscape. Although I’m not a huge fan of the interior decor, I love the fact that an entire volume is practically encased by glass.
