Name: House RT – Sotogrande
Designer: N+A Arquitectos
Location: Algeciras, Spain
House RT – Sotogrande is a minimalist home designed by Spain-based designer N+A Arquitectos. The home is surrounded by plenty of greenery and even a golf course. The Sotogrande had a traditional tiled sloping roof, which was later converted into a rectangular volume. The concept was to use simplified materials and details to make an extension to the home. In the end, corten steel was used as the basic structural material.
Now this is a home stripped down to its bare essentials. First of all, I’m a huge fan of the all-white exterior. However, I think larger windows could have been used to promote the surroundings and natural lighting of the area. I find the use of limestone rocks on the walkway and rooftop terrace flooring to be aesthetically pleasing. Nothing matches this building’s spectacular view off the upper level terraces.
