Vista Del Valle by Zimmerman & Associates

Name: Vista Del Valle

Designer: Zimmerman & Associates

Location: Sonoma Hills, California

Vista Del Valle is a 4400 sq ft. home built by Zimmerman & Associates on the Sonoma Hills of California. It boasts a long sloping roofline with grounds that include a courtyard, an infiniti pool, and beautiful cedar veneer panels. Tall glass doors are seen all around the building, letting plenty of natural light into the home. The building is as much green as it is minimal, with solar water heating & floor heating, along with an energy efficient ventilation system; keeping the bill itself, well, minimal.

The design space is built on sharp edges that accentuate some parts of the exterior, as well as allowing the interior to be as clutter free as possible. By keeping the furniture, landscaping, and paint simple, the beauty of the building “does the talking” instead of its contents. Minimal is truly the new modern and the Vista Del Valle is a prime example of where U.S. architecture is inevitably heading.
