The Greywall is a minimalist residence located in Vilnius, Lithuania, designed by YCL. The project is a house that is recessed and hidden behind a continuous concrete wall. This wall becomes a part of the interior by creating the perimeter throughout the entire apartment, and becomes a limit between common spaces and nature. By entering the house one meets all three color tones used within the interior: grey, warm wood texture, and white. Grey becomes a path connecting the second floor with the living space while the wood and white surfaces connect the residents to the private areas on the second floor master bedroom, two children rooms, and bathroom. Big windows provide light and shadow play on sunny days while all secondary functions are hidden in the grey wall.
