Villa Bloch is a minimalist residence located in Poitiers, France, designed by Nicolas Dorval-Bory Architectes. This artist residency project, in the former home of the writer and journalist Jean-Richard Bloch, is a bold cultural intervention led by the Mayor of Poitiers. Touching the original house with its extension, and the annex buildings in a superb park, the project has its origins in the analysis of the potential of this existing situation. Seeking to bring a new relationship to the outside, a relationship with the particular light, in shift, we intervene by delicate touches on the existing building, exploring the principle of the second day, literally as well as figuratively, to bring climatic characteristics to the the House’s rooms. The highlight of the project, a luminous and changing fault 6m high is formed between the two building bodies, creating a living, atmospheric,
