I found the Cooling Carafe, by Vacuvin, completely by accident. First of all, what is a cooling carafe? It’s basically an ice chiller (wine cooler) that immediately cools drinks.
The company claims that drinks filled inside the one-liter container can be chilled within five minutes. I can see this kind of product sitting around in a blue blood’s estate filled to the brim with exquisite champagne. Me? I’d use this thing to quickly ice up beers that I’ve been too lazy to shove in the fridge. More importantly, the design of this sculpture-like piece is what I want to focus on. I was jumbling around adjectives to describe this thing, and I would have to say that “sleek” just doesn’t do justice for this carafe’s elegancy. The glossy appearance coupled with the curvaceous dip toward the center makes me want to lick its surface. It’s also great for outdoor use.
