Humidifier Ver. 3 by Naoto Fukasawa

If you’re not sure with this is, the Humidifier Ver 3, by PlusMinusZero, is an award winning product designed by one of the most influential designers in the industry: Naoto Fukasawa. I don’t know why it took me this long to write about the man, being that he’s my idol and all, but here is a product underlying the philosophies of elegant form and modernist minimalism – which clearly, he has a strong adherence to. I have a humidifier at home, and it’s starting to look like a lot like the inside of my garbage can compared to this piece. The simplistic form, soft curves, and slight dip all contribute to the reductional functionalist aesthetics of modern design.

This lovely machine with its clean lines – like a drop of water adding moisture to the air – quietly controls the humidity level of the room. The humidifier blends unobtrusively into any space, and whether being used or not is attractive to look at.
