Name: Luminaire Post
Designer: Studio Ninho
Location: São Paulo, Brazil
Luminaire Post is a minimal light fixture designed by Brazil-based designer Studio Ninho. Composed of cork, recycled cork sheet, pinewood, and flexible pp wiring, the construction of this light is extremely simple and cheap. Even the packaging is simplified down to its basic parts. The aim of the project was to reduce waste and streamline the production, transportation, and distribution of the product.
What I love most about this minimalist light is just how unconventional it is. I’m not talking just the design, but the materials that were used, its manufacturing process, its packaging, and its function. I’d be ecstatic if I were the designer of Luminaire Post. It has got all its bases covered: sustainable materials, compact packaging, multi-functionality, appealing aesthetic, and cheap production. I have much respect for Studio Ninho. What do you guys think?
