Mylamp is a minimalist lighting fixture designed by Denmark-based designer MadeByWho. The designers wanted a fun design in which the user would be involved with the process of creating and assembling the product. Used as a desk or wall lamp, Mylamp is laser cut using 1mm recycled cardboard. (3)

Mylamp is a minimalist lighting fixture designed by Denmark-based designer MadeByWho. The designers wanted a fun design in which the user would be involved with the  process of creating and assembling the product. Used as a desk or wall lamp, Mylamp is laser cut using 1mm recycled cardboard.

I happen to love the look and feel of recycled paper and cardboard. It makes me wonder how such a sleek and minimalist design can come out of a few folds of cardboard. I grew up with Legos, so I appreciate “building” a product – even if it only involves a few folds along a perforated edge. With rapid prototyping taking off, I’m hoping to see more unique and simple designs such as Mylamp.
