It’s great to see innovative ideas that transmute complexity into simplicity through the power of design. The Multi Touch DJ Light Table, by Gerg Kaufman, takes the classic turn table design, and unites it with some sexy tech. Actually, it’s a lot of tech if you ask me. I’ve gotten used to multi touch thanks to Apple, but this turn table brings it into a whole new level.
Kaufman worked on this table for three months as a school project over at Kansas City Art Institute. For a semester’s worth of work, he was able to do a complete overhaul on the traditional turn table. After looking at his concept, the older tables look like they belong a decade into the past alongside cassette players and VCR tapes.
