Pillar Dining Table is a minimalist dining table designed by Brooklyn-based studio Fort Standard. Coinciding with the launch of their new website, the studio and manufacturer have released a number of new design variations. Not just an aesthetic overhaul, the website redesign was created to meet the evolving needs of its clientele through an array of advanced tools and features, facilitating an expanded customization process. The updated online presence showcases the full range of Fort Standard’s furniture collection, offering more than just a browsing experience, allowing prospective buyers the liberty to personalize and obtain quotations for pieces with their preferred finishes. A standout addition to the website is the integration of interactive, 3D virtual models. Patrons are now able to compare and contrast various material combinations, spanning from hardwood to stone and metal finishes.

Of the new design variations, Pillar Dining Table was introduced with two leg variations, pedestal or racetrack. Pillar puts forth a harmonious interplay between substance and style. A sturdy hardwood surface rests atop a metal pedestal base, blending the charm of organic material with the steadfast reliability of metal. The configuration subtly references the time-honored techniques of wood joinery, endowing this piece with an enduring sense of authenticity. It owes its structure to meticulously engineered steel components whose parts have been machined with precision to enable a seamless mechanical interlock. The innovative design not only contributes to the aesthetic charm of the piece but also eases the assembly process on site.
